| All RFID hardware functions the same way. When a tag is in the RFID readers range (the area that where a tag can be seen by the reader) information from the RFID reader about the asset tag is forwarded to an application that performs some function. It's not what the RFID hardware does that sets the system apart, it's what the application does with the information that truly defines the system. |
