Current Implements of NCase:
A major mid-western grocery distribution company is using NCase in conjunction with NCompass to track the entry and exit of their vehicles at their distribution centers. NCase formats NCompass collected data using the filtering and structure criteria and forwards the information to their yard management application. The yard management application assigns a dock location to the vehicle and sends that information to a hand-held device at the security station. When the vehicle stops at the security station, the security officer uses the information to inform the driver where to park his vehicle.
"A mid-western vehicle manufacturer is using NCase to track the entry and exit of company owned vehicles at their research and development center. This installation has designated active RFID tag readers collocated with customer electronic access control readers. Whenever NCompass detects a tag at these designated reader(s), NCompass causes NCase to send a formatted inquiry to customer’s access control system. This inquiry requests the information about the identification of the driver who presented their access control credentials. NCase uses the returned access control system information, in combination with the NCompass tag information, to format a new message. This message information is used to update a customer database with the vehicle, driver, direction of travel, and time of entrance or exit. This is a prime example of how NCase can be used for both obtaining information from an external database and providing information to update a second external database."
